Background of establishing the Network
After decades of the military rule, the whole education system in Burma has suffered a serious problem. This negative aspect of education leads young people in the country to find ways to go outside in search of better education. Under this situation, youths from Mon State and Mon society also have dreams to be able to achieve a better and higher education outside the country. However, due to the lack of adequate information, contact, and financial assistance, many are unable to achieve their dreams. Mon Education Network (M.E. Network) therefore, is established in order to fulfill this gap and provide what are necessary for the Mon youths to find a better education.

Congratulation on the achievement of Mon Education Network. As our Mon people have no country, no government and no good leadership, furthermore most of our Mon elder people devoted for religious issues instead of education for their younger generation, you have to strive by yourselve for your education and for your future. I deeply hope that you can do better than our generation.
